Maggie Cordero, JD

Ms. Cordero has extensive experience administering local, state, and federally funded programs, and a wealth of experience in outreach activities and educational pathway development for students. She served as the Director for the Pathway Programs Department at Cerritos College (2008-2013).  She is currently the Dean of Pathways and Student Affairs at Los Angeles Trade Tech Community College.

Prior to working in education, Ms. Cordero worked as a corporate bankruptcy attorney specializing in Chapter 11 reorganizations. Ms. Cordero received her Bachelor of Science degree in Public Policy and Management with a minor in Sociology from the University of Southern California, as well as a Juris Doctorate of Law from Syracuse University.

Deisy Covarrubias:

Deisy Covarrubias currently serves as the Dean of Extended Opportunities and Services Program at Santa Ana Community College. She has over 19 years of experience in higher education at two year and four year institutions in the capacities of student programming, counseling, student affairs and administration. As a graduate from San Jose State University with a double major in Behavioral Science and Sociology, she continued to pursue graduate studies and received a Masters of Science degree in Counseling with Student Development in Higher Education from California State University Long Beach at the age of 23.

Deisy’s passion lies in education and the success of students. She strives on a daily basis to ensure adequate opportunities and access for underrepresented student populations. Committed to helping others, being an advocate for those in need, and being an agent of change, is the philosophy Deisy lives by. Deisy was reared in Northern California with her parents and her three sisters.

Rob Pene:

Rob Pene is the owner and CEO of Mission Driven Brand, LLC, a digital marketing agency, well as the Director of Digital for multiple brands. Rob has helped numerous companies succeed in utilizing online tools to build their business, from sports agencies to start up churches.  He has over 13 years of combined marketing, teaching, and coaching experience and takes pride in the service of others.

With a graduate degree from Azusa Pacific University, a resume boasting of international business relations and a servant leadership perspective, Rob desires to assist in the success of likeminded, community oriented organizations and individuals. He is a former professional baseball player, an All-American scholar-athlete, and a Samoan chief in his family clan. He has traveled the country performing & speaking as a Youth and Young adult minister and was featured in the PBS documentary special “The Calling”.
