I’ve known Carla Yorke for years, since I was 16 to be exact. I’m 25 now and ever since I met her she has always been about education. She’s encouraged me to pursue my degree and aided me in discovering what I want to do with it. I went to Cal State Los Angeles right after high school and it was a challenging time for me. Carla was there to help me with financial aid and understanding the college process. She helped me to develope study habits and kept me on track. Even when I needed a job, she helped me to get a job at Cerritos College. If it wasn’t for Carla, I would have not gotten this far in my education. I appreciate her life. – Michael Jelks
